Autumn is the season that doesn’t fail to go viral every single year. TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube flourishes with fall excitement by early July. Hudson, being an aesthetically pleasing small town in the beautiful state of Ohio, means that it really does live up to social media standards. As it can be inferred, many students at Hudson High School never fail to indulge deeply into the aesthetic of fall. These are the top five fall trends of 2024!
One of the most popular fall trends that has grown in popularity over the past couple of years are Ugg boosts. By the time September hits, the hallways flood with the different shades of brown Ugg shoes on tons and tons of students, both boys and girls. The most popular being the Tasmans, Ultra Minis, and Classic Minis. Uggs are shoes that always seem to make their way back into trending styles. They had their era in the 2000s, 2007 being the peak Ugg year. Then, around 2014, they made their way back again. Our generation saw Uggs rise back into style around 2022, and they’ve been selling out ever since. Teenagers love to wear them with jeans, sweaters, sweatpants and even shorts. They are the perfect addition to really creating a fall outfit.
Next, is the fall Starbucks menu. For Hudson students, the fall menus came out on our first day of school, and weeks after that, students flocked to Starbucks before and after school to get their delicious fall treats. Autumn Lewis, a sophomore at Hudson comments, “My most favorite thing to do in fall is go to Starbucks and get a Venti Pumpkin Chai Latte and a warm pumpkin loaf. It makes me feel so productive and in the fall mood.” Along with Lewis, it definitely can be confirmed by students that the Pumpkin Chai latte is the most popular drink on the Starbucks fall menu. It has a cinnamon and pumpkin taste that perfectly matches the season. It is topped with creamy and fluffy pumpkin sweet cream cold foam that adds the most delectable sweetness to the drink. While walking in the hallways, be sure to look for this delicious drink!
Another fall trend that seemed to have flourished on TikTok a few years ago is the tv show, Gilmore Girls. It genuinely fits the season of fall perfectly with even the cover image of the show being the leaves changing in the fall. It not only attracts students because of the early 2000s nostalgia, but also because of the main character, Rory, who is remarkably intelligent and puts her schoolwork ahead of everything. Fall itself is a season of productivity, and Rory Gilmore embodies that desire to stay committed. Lorelei, Rory’s mother in the show, played by Lauren Graham, brings an element of humor and love into the tv show. Rory and Lorelei are characters easy to get hooked on. This show brings in viewers during autumn because of its nostalgic fall episodes, and the town of Stars hollow, which with the small-town charm reminds many of Hudson.
Style is a trend itself during fall. Fall is when girls ditch the shorts and the tank tops and their styles switch to fall staples. Including jeans, commonly being baggy and low rise flares; bows in hair, knit sweaters, crewnecks with the neck cut off, leggings, both regular and flare, and especially anything from Brandy. A majority of girls likely have at least one item from Brandy in their wardrobe as the popularity of the brand has grown increasingly. It is a popular brand during fall because the designs are simple, but fit the aesthetic look many girls are trying to go for. They sell sweaters and hoodies, sweatpants of every color, and graphic tee’s with numbers on the front, deers, angels and so much more fun designs!
Lastly, a super popular fall trend is simply going to target with your friends. Girls of all ages love to go to Target, usually coffee in hand, wether it is to just window shop and look around, or to buy a ten dollar Halloween blanket, a scented candles or shop for fall decorations. Customers buy Pillsbury sugar cookies and go home to set up their new fall decor, watch a Halloween movie, and light their brand new candle! Target definitely knows what it’s doing when it comes to the fall season and it attracts students like no other store.
There is a number of trends that begin with the fall season, consisting of a variety of popular things. You really can’t go wrong with any of these, as the love for these trends continue to grow every year. With such a beautiful time of year, it’s only fair to reward this season with trends fit for the beloved time.
