Gavin Mertes is a senior at Hudson High School. This is his first year in Journalism and his first year writing for The Explorer. Gavin is a captain on the boys varsity soccer team. He is a part of National Honors Society, Hudson Community First, Newcomers Club and the Applied Statistics Club. He likes watching the Cleveland Browns and the Akron Zips men’s soccer team. Also, Gavin likes to golf and hang out with friends. He is excited to write in The Explorer about sports-related topics.
