Hudson High School senior Jack McCormick has become well known in the music association. McCormick has done numerous activities and deserves the best future. From droning the new Hudson Middle School to marching band’s head senior squad leader, McCormick is a very well-rounded student.
Since he was young, McCormick has been into droning. He started out flying and now is getting paid to take pictures of schools. When the new Hudson Middle School was getting built, McCormick would go about every week to take pictures to see how far they had come along. McCormick has been droning since he was eight years, but put it to show in seventh grade.
McCormick has also been in band since fifth grade. During that time, he made many friends. One friend, Zach Stein, who has been friends with McCormick since preschool said, “Jack is determined and focused. He sets his mind to a goal and doesn’t stop until it is finished.” Many describe McCormick as hardworking and focused. During school, he always pays attention to what is being taught and is willing to help others at any given time.
McCormick is also the marching band’s head senior squad leader. He says, “Being head senior squad leader is both challenging and rewarding. Sticking with the band since 5th grade and now holding the highest student leadership position as a senior is incredibly rewarding and something I take great pride in.”
Being a marching band head senior squad leader is filled with responsibility and pride. You are not just leading the band in performances but also setting an example for dedication and hard work. People look up to you because of your commitment to excellence and ability to inspire others. McCormick describes being head senior squad leader as a challenge.
“The biggest challenge I’ve faced as head senior squad leader has been stepping out of my comfort zone. This includes talking to more people, becoming more outgoing, and improving my public speaking skills.”
McCormick has always been a more quiet person at first but will become more talkative once you get to know him. During football games, McCormick conducts the Hudson High School Alma Mater.
McCormick’s advice for underclassmen focuses on organization and commitment.
“Stay organized. Focus on one or two extracurricular activities and commit to them fully to develop your skills and excel.” High school can be stressful with homework and tests, but you want to stay organized and focused.
McCormick is someone many aspire to be. From all of his achievements to being the person he is, McCormick plans on pursuing computer science in college. We are all excited to see where you go in life!
