“XO, Kitty” Season 3 arrived on Netflix on Thursday, April 3, 2026. With the release came some disappointment, hope and certainly a lot of love.
In past seasons, viewers got the chaos, drama and plot twists they were expecting, and this new season continues that trend. In Season 1, Kitty — the sister of Lara Jean from To All the Boys I Loved Before — moves to Seoul, South Korea, for a year of high school abroad. She faces many challenges, including grades, relationships and friendships.
Kitty moves there not only to connect with her mother, who passed away, in her own way, but also for her boyfriend, Dae. When she surprises him, she finds out he has been “cheating” on her with a girl named Yuri. The two are in a fake relationship, and he still loves Kitty but cannot correct the situation.
Kitty goes through a lot trying to learn more about her mom, including thinking she may have a brother she never knew about. At the same time, she helps her new friends and tries to solve problems that are often out of her control.
Throughout the season, she lives in the boys’ dorm with her ex due to an issue with her roommate. Two other boys live there, including Min Ho. Min Ho acts like he hates her, but by the end of the season, he reveals that is not the case.
Season 2 continues the storyline in which many people in the friend group date each other. Kitty explores her identity and experiences several flings, but nothing serious. However, after Min Ho confesses his feelings, he enters a relationship with a new girl named Stella.
Kitty’s focus that season is also on the part of her family that lives in Seoul. She struggles to connect with them but eventually grows closer, leading to many meaningful moments.
During Season 2, Min Ho’s dad faces a potential scandal caused by one of the students at the school. Kitty discovers who is responsible but creates tension among her friends along the way. Eventually, she resolves those issues and repairs her friendships.
At the end of Season 2, Min Ho and Kitty share a moment before he leaves to help his dad produce a new pop star. Right before he gets in the car, Kitty asks to come along.

Season 3 picks up right at that moment, as Kitty and Min Ho prepare to leave for a party for the new pop star, Eunice. Kitty hopes to have a moment with Min Ho so they can begin dating, so she asks her best friend, Q, to come help. Q agrees, but it turns into five other people joining them, making it difficult for Kitty and Min Ho to have time alone.
Before the party, they nearly confess their feelings, but the moment is interrupted by a call from Min Ho’s dad, telling him he has been promoted to Eunice’s manager. Min Ho has to leave immediately, leaving Kitty behind.
At the party, Kitty arrives underdressed, but her friend Yuri finds her a dress backstage. It turns out to be Eunice’s dress, which leaves Kitty embarrassed. She leaves the party and walks along the beach. Min Ho catches up with her and questions why she left, why she never told him she liked him, and why she sends mixed signals. The tension builds, and the two confess their feelings and share a kiss. However, Kitty cannot join Min Ho on tour because she needs to visit her sister in New York, Lara Jean, who is dealing with a difficult situation with her boyfriend, Peter.
After the summer, Min Ho and Kitty reunite and experience many ups and downs throughout the rest of the season. All the characters show growth, leaving viewers wondering whether there will be another season. The show remains popular, and the season ends with room for more, but nothing has been confirmed.
Even though the season performed well, some fans were quick to note how “cringey” the show can be. Clips have gone viral, with viewers describing “secondhand embarrassment” and even pausing the show to get through certain moments.
Despite some of that criticism, many viewers still enjoyed the season, saying it features a strong romance trope and remains entertaining. The show also offers storylines beyond relationships. Some cast members have said this season focuses heavily on sisterhood and its importance. The series stands out as it follows someone adjusting to life in a new country, showing how Kitty navigates new friendships and challenges.
